Iron

3 tiers (Iron 1–3)

8–10% of players0–100 RR per tier

The starting rank. Most new players and those still learning the basics. Focus on crosshair placement and communication.

Bronze

3 tiers (Bronze 1–3)

15–17% of players0–100 RR per tier

Mechanics are beginning to develop. Players understand abilities but not when to use them optimally.

3

Silver

3 tiers (Silver 1–3)

25–27% of players0–100 RR per tier

The most populated rank. Mechanical skills are functional; the gap is game sense and utility usage.

4

Gold

3 tiers (Gold 1–3)

17–19% of players0–100 RR per tier

Above average gameplay. Players understand utility chaining and have consistent aim. Economy management becomes important.

5

Platinum

6

Diamond

3 tiers (Diamond 1–3)

5–7% of players0–100 RR per tier

Top 5–7% of players. Strong individual skill, good rotation timing. VCT amateur players typically sit here.

3 tiers (Ascendant 1–3)

2–3% of players0–100 RR per tier

Added in Episode 5. Sits between Diamond and Immortal. Very high mechanical ceiling and game knowledge.

8

Immortal

3 tiers (Immortal 1–3)

0.8–1.2% of players0–100 RR (Immortal 3 uses regional leaderboard position)

Elite rank. Immortal 3+ players are in the top ~1% of their region. Mechanically very difficult to beat.

Tip: Individual mechanics must be near-perfect. Adapt mid-round. Every utility piece should have a clear purpose.

Radiant

1 tier

< 0.1% of playersTop 500 players per region

The highest rank β€” top 500 players per server region. Most Radiants are semi-pro or professional players.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many ranks are in Valorant?

Valorant has 9 ranks: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal and Radiant. Iron through Immortal each have 3 tiers (e.g. Iron 1, Iron 2, Iron 3), while Radiant is a single tier for the top 500 players per region.

How do RR (Rank Rating) points work in Valorant?

Each rank requires 100 RR to advance to the next tier. You earn RR by winning matches β€” the amount depends on your combat score, match outcome, and current rank. You lose RR when you lose matches. At Immortal 3 and Radiant, your rank is based on your position in the regional leaderboard.

What is the rank distribution in Valorant?

As of 2026: Iron (8–10%), Bronze (15–17%), Silver (25–27%), Gold (17–19%), Platinum (10–12%), Diamond (5–7%), Ascendant (2–3%), Immortal (0.8–1.2%), Radiant (<0.1%). Silver is the most populated rank. The average player sits in Silver or Gold.

What is the fastest way to rank up in Valorant?

Focus on winning rounds rather than chasing kills. Communicate spike position, rotate efficiently, and play as a team. Mastering 2–3 agents instead of many is more effective. Reviewing your own gameplay to identify mistakes is the single biggest accelerator.

Do pro Valorant players play on ranked?

Yes β€” VCT professionals grind ranked to stay sharp. Most VCT pros sit at Immortal 3 or Radiant. TenZ, Aspas, Chronicle, and other top players are regularly visible on Radiant leaderboards under their in-game names.
